BABL is a prosperity platform for powerful women: an intimate community of senior leaders, board members, founders, creators, and investors committed to advancing each other's access to opportunity.

That works because of who's in the room and how we behave in it. These guidelines exist to protect both.

Guidelines & Code of Conduct

Every BABL member agrees to this Code of Conduct as a condition of membership. It applies everywhere BABL exists: our WhatsApp community and all subgroups, our Wings, our Regional Communities, our workshops, our events and dinners, and any setting where you are present as a BABL member.

  • BABL membership is by referral only. We admit a limited number of new members each quarter, and we look for the same three things every time:

    Bold and ambitious. You strive for excellence and you have broken through something to get where you are. You’ve bet on yourself.

    Committed to each other. You give as much as you receive. The fastest way up is to bring others with you, and you actually believe that.

    Ready to show up. You participate. A membership you never use isn't a membership — it's a subscription, and BABL isn't one.  The power of BABL comes from member participation sharing your wisdom, story, connections, and grit.

  • 1. Respect and professionalism

    Treat every member, guest, partner, sponsor, and member of the BABL team with courtesy, dignity, and respect. Harassment of any kind — verbal, physical, or digital — has no place in this community and is grounds for immediate removal.

    Disagreement is welcome. Contempt is not.

    2. We approach commercial outcomes thoughtfully 

    BABL is a prosperity platform that leads with respect and mutual interest. We’re clear about the fact that we’re all here to advance our careers and professional (and personal) prosperity. But all BABLs know that to be part of the community is to understand how to respect every member’s boundaries and purpose for joining. With that said, BABLs do not solicit other members without mutual interest or inquiry provided first. BABLs promote their own services, businesses, or endeavors when it’s appropriate and the moment is right. 

    Where selling is welcome: The Marketplace group exists precisely so members can offer services, recommend vendors, and ask for what they need. Post there. If a member asks you for a proposal, that's an invitation — go for it.

    Unsolicited solicitation is one of the fastest ways to lose your membership, and we do not refund it.

    3. Confidentiality

    Respect the privacy of your fellow members. What is shared inside BABL — in the WhatsApp groups, in a Wing workshop, at a dinner table, in the Advisory group — stays inside BABL unless the person who shared it gives you explicit permission to repeat it.

    This includes screenshots. Do not screenshot BABL conversations and share them outside the community.

    Do not share member contact information or the member directory with anyone outside BABL.

    Separately: sponsors of a BABL event receive an attendee list for that event as a standard sponsor deliverable. You'll always know when an event is sponsored, and you can ask to be left off.

    4. Be your authentic self

    Show up however you actually are. Talk about lipstick or talk about nothing but operations. Bring the win and bring the thing that's falling apart. The community is more useful when it's honest, and honesty needs room to be unglamorous. There’s no judgement here.

    5. Use the community for community

    Our WhatsApp channels are for connection: the questions facing our industries, how work is changing, meeting other BABLs locally and at events, and sharing what's genuinely useful across personal and professional prosperity.

    Keep it in the right room — each group has a purpose and a pinned description. And please, no chain messages, no mass forwards, no engagement-farming.

    6. No partisan or political campaigning

    BABL spaces are not for promoting political parties, campaigns, candidates, or partisan agendas. Thoughtful, civil conversation about leadership, policy, and impact on our industries and our lives is welcome and encouraged. Campaigning is not.

    7. Inclusivity

    We value the diversity of identity, experience, perspective, and industry that makes this community worth being part of. Every member is responsible for contributing to an environment that is inclusive, equitable, and free of discrimination.

    8. Accountability

    You represent BABL — online and off, at our events and at events where you're simply in the room as a BABL. How you treat people reflects on all of us, including the sponsors, partners, and venues who make this community possible.

    If you bring a guest, you are responsible for their conduct.

  • Members who serve as Wing founding leaders or Regional Community leaders are part of BABL leadership and are held to these guidelines with particular care — you set the tone in your room. Specific expectations are set out in your leadership agreement.

  • We would rather have a conversation than remove someone. Most issues start and end with a direct, private note.

    Our process:

    1. A private conversation. A member of BABL leadership will reach out directly. Most matters resolve here.

    2. A formal warning, documented, if the behavior continues or the initial issue is serious.

    3. Suspension or removal from specific groups, from events, or from BABL entirely.

    Some violations skip straight to removal. Harassment, discriminatory conduct, breaches of confidentiality that harm another member, and persistent unsolicited solicitation are grounds for immediate termination of membership without refund.

    Membership decisions — including admission, suspension, and termination — are made at the sole discretion of BABL leadership.

  • If something happens in a BABL space that doesn't sit right, tell us. Email conduct@bablhq.com or message Katie or Stephanie directly.

    Reports are handled discreetly. We will not share your name with the person you're reporting without your agreement, and we will tell you what we did about it. Retaliation against a member for raising a concern in good faith is itself a violation of this Code.

  • Annual membership: $1,500 per year, billed annually. Term: Membership runs for twelve months from the date of payment and renews annually. Refunds: Membership dues are non-refundable, including where membership is terminated for a violation of this Code. Changes: We may update these guidelines as the community grows. Material changes will be communicated to all members in advance.
